Sobre os expositores:

Jane Cohen graduou-se em Direito pela Universidade de Yale, em 1971. Atualmente é professora na Faculdade de Direito da Universidade do Texas, em Austin. Entre as especialidades da Professora Cohen estão Teoria Feminista do Direito, Direito Reais e Direito das Águas. Ela tem escrito extensivamente nessas áreas.

Antonio Herman Benjamin é Ministro do Superior Tribunal de Justiça e professor de Direito Ambiental. É co-autor de várias leis ambientais brasileiras, entre elas destacando-se a Lei dos Crimes contra o Ambiente (1998) e a Resolução CONAMA 357 (2008). O Ministro Herman Benjamin tem vários livros e artigos na matéria, publicados no Brasil e no exterior.

About the speakers:

Jane Cohen received her JD from Yale in 1971. At present, she is a professor at the University of Texas School of Law in Austin. Her areas of interest are Feminist Legal Theory, Family Law, Property and Water Law. She has written extensively in those fields.

Antonio Herman Benjamin is a Justice in the High Court of Brazil and a professor of Environmental Law. His is the co-drafter of some of the most important Brazilian environmental statutes including the Crimes against the Environment Act (1998) and the National Regulation on Water Quality and Standards (2005). Justice Benjamin has several articles and books published in Brazil and abroad.
